Bucs survive "literally" in San Francisco...the injury bowl Empty Bucs survive "literally" in San Francisco...the injury bowl

"They remind me a lot of us from last year" Bucs coach James told the
media after the game. "We were a good team, I thought, but we would get
down early and couldn't recover. I think if we had found a way to
recover or limit turn overs then we would have been ok."

In a coast to coast, bay to bay game, the Tampa Bay Bucs traveled to San
Francisco in a cross country battle. "Wish I would have stayed home"
said Tyrell Hillard after the game. "I thought everyone was going home
in body bags". The game was physical and led to many Bucs injuries
including injuries to Hillard as well as CB Jorrick Calvin. "I'm glad
we have a little depth, cause we'll need it a few weeks" Carson Palmer
told the media. "It was war! I'm glad that my boy Frank Gore is a
f@*king soldier, or he'd be in a body bag too" echoed Kellen Winslow.

Here is a recap of the game

Quarter 1 the scoring started with 3rd down in which the Bucs would
blitz, and blitz hard, hitting QB Gonzalez and forcing a wobbly throw
that was intercepted and returned for a TD by Bradie James. This would
be followed by a clock draining drive in which the Bucs would add 7 more
behind a 6 yard TD pass from Palmer to Kellen "f@*king soldier"
Winslow.

Quarter 2 would see a 32 yard strike from Gonzales to Morgan to cut the
49ers deficit in half....which has led Gonzales to retire and run for
congress.
This would be followed up by a 44 yard Frank Gore TD run and a 39 yard Riddick field goal as time expired

Quarter 3 would all Bucs with 2 (48, 56) field goals and a 12 yard td
reception by Ronnie Belle who told the media after the game that the
Bucs had their fears about this team. "We watch what they did to our
divisional rivals (Saints). The Saints were up 17 and held on in the
4th to win 52-49...this gave us fear/respect for the 49ers."

In quarter 4 the Bucs would see nothing but scores from the 49ers. A
early 29 yard run by Bertz followed by a 3 and out had the Bucs worried
the 49ers may mount a come back again. However, today, the defense
would stand tall and battle to make this a non issue. Both teams
offenses would be held in check until there was not enough time in the
game. With a little more than 1 minute remaining the 49ers would score
again to cut the lead to 16 and hold the daunting task of recovering 2
onside kicks and scoring 2 td's in less than a minute. The onside kick
would be recovered by the Bucs and the clock would be run out to finish
of the game.

Frank Gore also left the game 3 times....I think there were 3 other guys that left the field at some point. Calvin and Hillard are the only ones that will miss time though. I just seemed like a lot of injuries happening.
