Packers edge Lions in OT
In a game that could have been billed as an offense shootout, the Packers edged the Lions 49 - 43 in OT.
After a great back and forth 3 quarters, the 4th QTR could have been a game in and of itself. The Packers went up by 1 early in the 4th, and on the ensuing drive, Nick Collins picked off a long bomb from Josh Freeman and returned it an amazing 88 Yds to put the Packers up by 8. Nick Collins USER PICK 88 Yds INT Return TD
The Packers would force the Lions into a 3rd and short situation, but the Lions outdid the Packers on the playcall, and found a wide open Bernard Berrian for the TD, and would get the 2 point conversion to tie the game with 3 minutes left. The Packers drive looked good until the 2 minute warning, when Aaron Rodgers was hit and fumbled the ball, it was recovered by the Lions O-Lineman to put the Lions up by a TD.
The Packers were not done yet, hitting some big passes and setting up Ryan Grant to tie the game back up and send it into overtime.
In OT, The Packers had the ball first but could not get in FG range, however a great punt forced the Lions to drive the whole field if they wanted to win. It wouldn't come down to that though, as the Packers D got in Freeman's face and forced him to pop the ball up to an aware Brad Jones, who shook off a tackle and dove into the endzone to give the Packers the victory.
