Buccs demand to reverse the Dangerfield curse
Rodney Dangerfield pictures and one quote was plastered all over the Buccs locker room. "No Respect"
After a week in which the Buccs were woman handled by the Katskins they
found themselves to not be Pirates but dogs to the CheeseHeads. 1.5
dogs according to Vegas. The coach preached how they were expecting the
Buccs to lose every game (although the Buccs were slight favorites in
week 1). This did not settle well with the Buccs as they took the field
in week 4 action.
The game opened up with a methodical passing drive down field which
ended in a TD for the Buccs. The ensuing drive would prove to be short
as Ryan Grant reeled off a 67 yard touchdown run.....the Buccs would
spend the rest of the day trying to figure out how to stop Grant while,
for the most part, keeping Aaron Rodger in check. Rodgers passed for
180 yards (2 TD's and 2 picks) on only 9 of 21 passing. Half time held a
17-14 Buccs lead.
The second half started with a few 3 and outs. Freeman found Cribbs
late in the quarter on a blitz play that left Cribbs open and streaking
for a 30 yard TD. In the 4th the Buccs scored twice, once on D the
other on O, on what proved to be one of the plays of the game that would
kill the Pack (a CB blitz...both on D and O). Recognizing what was
coming on the play Freeman realized the coaches call was perfect. He
had a deep route and a slant route on a crossing pattern. With 2 DB's
out and 1 of them blitzing one of these recievers would be open. It
ended up the safety cheated up on the dump off option to Kellen Winslow
leaving Brandon Gibson open for what would be a huge 78 yard TD.
This is where the drama unfolds. The Pack marched the ball down field
on brilliant running by Grant and a few beautifully placed balls by
Rodgers. In FG range the Pack, on 4th and short do the unthinkable.
Booooo's rang out through the stadium as, down 10 with a handful of
minutes left on the clock, the Packers went for it. The booo's quickly
turned to cheers as the conversion was successful. Apparently the Buccs
D thought the cheers were for them as they became inspired. In a later
play the second of the CB blitz paid off as Rodgers was hit and the
pass picked off and returned for a TD to extend the lead to 17. Green
Bay would score again but fail to nab the onside kick which would prove
to end the game with a 10 point deficit.
Final score

HA! Bullshit.
The Bucs and the Titans earn this weeks "Vegas Dangerfield" awards for the NFC and AFC respectively.
