Re: Making a new rule book
Here's something: After a game, talking to your opponent is important. If they had a passing TD while up by 175 points in the first half, if the two of you can hammer your issues out and both reaffirm that you're in agreement, there simply is no problem.
No one has ever brought this up (that I know of) and this is a key point. Some people in the league are way more sensitive about play calling, running up the score, etc. When I played the Bills, they passed the ball (up 14) with 20 seconds left instead of kneeling on the ball and they scored. We emailed back and forth afterwards and it was never an issue.

Re: Making a new rule book
huh? Never brought this up? I wrote a whole league e-mail AND forum post about this. Attached below:
Hey League,
We've (The Security Council) had a number of e-mails in the past couple
of weeks about players being upset with their opponents play style,
tactics, late-game play-calling etc.
The league has a code of honour, "The Anti-Douchery Lawbook" which we all know and have our own definition of.
First of all, the last thing we ever want to do is force a player out of the league.
Secondly, we don't want to have to send 'policing' e-mail to individual leaguers based on a single game.
In the case that you are unhappy with the way your opponent has played, the things to do are as below:
1) Email him and ask for an explanation, and say why you are pissed.
2) Back and forth and work it out between yourselves if possible.
3) Begin a 4th String rivalry by calling him out on his tactics and
play-calling in the forums, and help the rest of us beat the fucker.
4) If you are STILL unhappy with the way the match went, email the Security Council.

I only read the headlines of emails and news articles...I find that I am more informed that way. After I posted that, I actually remembered that email, but the main point I took away from that email was to start a rivalry and beat the fucker.

I'm not capable of talking and playing well at the same time. I know others are in the same boat, so that could be asking a lot.
Understood, its often not a case of talking throughout the game but a quick "I have to go for it here" while the play calling screen or "I going to decline that penalty" or "I going to let the half expire" or "That its, white flag I am just going to run clock now" during the game avoids so many problems.

That is exactly what Scott and I did lastnight for our game. It really does help out alot to avoid confussion as to why some plays are called.
