Re: Saints 62 vs Titans 56 - What the heck happened?
"Ouch!
Don't touch that" Jared Allen said after a 5-year-old Saints fan
touched his partially torn MCL. Allen, was forced to sit yet another
game on the sidelines, and looks to be out for the rest of the season,
and the Titan's playoff hopes fade into
oblivion.
"Everyone be talkin' about the Steelers woes, but man, I'm out, Jared
Allen, Bernard Pollard, Ger-Al and Byndom too. We're fucked!" Vince
Young couldn't hide his disappointment about not being able to call the
plays either, and is expected to be out until week
17. Young is the only injured Titan expected to be back this season,
unless they make a spirited and implausible run to the playoffs,
especially at 5-7.
With Vince Young out, the Titans relied heavily on the run game, and
Chris Johnson delivered, rushing for 220 yards on 15 carries, including 2
TD's. His understudy, "Mr. Auspiscious" Kenarious Fluellen, again
managed to sneak one in, with a TD and 13 yards
on 2 carries. Stephen McGee stepped in for Young at QB and did as good
as Stephen McGee can do, with 172 passing yards on 11 of 21 passes,
throwing 2 TD's and 3 picks. It was the other QB that won the ballgame,
however, as Brees threw 7 TD's and 2 INT's on
20 of 26 and 501 yards.
"We suck, and we are running out of players" Akwasi Owusu-Ansah stated,
being the one bright spot in an otherwise dark day for the Titans
secondary. AO-A had 2 picks, including one taken back for a TD. "I'm
pretty sure I saw Owen Daniels playing Corner for
a couple of plays. Man, that ain't no good. Fuck that" AO-A was heard
saying.
When the ball was on the ground, the Titans seemed to dominate, holding
the DeAngelo Williams to 84 yards on 19 attempts, but once the ball was
in the air, the Titans crumpled. Brian Witherspoon had 7 kickoff returns
for a total of 333 yards, including 2 TD's.
After trading some solid defensive players for a big-name player in
Jared Allen, and then losing him to injury of the season, seems to have
crushed any hope of the Titans making the playoffs, and beaten their
spirits into the ground at the same time.
Chris Johnson seemed like the only happy Titan in the locker room after
his big day, taking him to 1786 yards for the season, already surpassing
last year's yardge, and getting to 18 TD's, 2 short of last year, with 4
games left. "How many draft picks we got
again? Oh yeah. Nice" Johnson said, hoping dearly for the season to end
soon and the draft to begin. "We'll be in it to win next year, you wait
and see".
