Bengals Roar Back Behind The Legs of Bernard Scott Empty Bengals Roar Back Behind The Legs of Bernard Scott

Week Four saw the Cincinnati Bengals with one more home game against the
Eagles before their first road trip to Cleveland next week. Week Four
also saw the emergence of third year running back Bernard Scott.

With winds reaching gusts of up to 16 MPH, the Bengals won the coin toss
and elected to kick the ball away since the directional thing confuses
them. Only 20 seconds went by before Eagles QB John Skelton found WR
Jeremy Maclin wide open after a blown coverage. Maclin took it 58 yards
for the score. The Bengals, downtrodden from last weeks last second
loss, appeared to be reeling yet again. However, after a 61 yard rush
by Bernard Scott on the Bengals first possession and some methodical
plays down the field, the Bengals were able to find the endzone. But
not before a crucial 4th and 1 conversion at the 7 yard line.
"Sometimes you have to trust your guys and have confidence. Sometimes,
you just can't think about it too much" said White on his dive to
convert. On the next play, White hit White in the middle for a 6 yard
TD. Three minutes later, the Eagles would take a 10-7 lead with a
46-yard field goal. First quarter: fin.

The second quarter didn't see much action until later on. With 3
minutes left in the half, Rey Maualuga found Skelton backed into his own
endzone and brought him down for a Safety. With the score now 10-9,
the Bengals were ready for some more offensive action. They didn't get
much of that at all and had to punt away. After Skelton missed Maclin
and DeSean Jackson on two passes, he found Jackson on a wheel route with
yet another blown coverage by the Bengals secondary. Jackson took it
80 yards for the score and the lead was still with the Eagles, 17-9.
Bengals received after the TD and White missed Shipley, but on the next
play, found Roddy White again for a 74-yard TD strike to close the gap.
The Bengals went for two to tie it up, but could not convert. The
Eagles found Celek and Avant within the next 1:20 and were able to get
in field goal position to extend their lead. The two teams went into
the locker room, bruised and battered with the score: Eagles 20, Bengals
15.

After a quick circle jerk (brought to you by Curel) in the locker room,
the Bengals came out to receive the kick. Bernard Scott struck gold yet
again. He took the kick back 103 yards for the TD and gave the Bengals
their first lead of the game. The Eagles couldn't find their man on
offense and punted it away. The Bengals were backed up to their own 2
yard line. On the first play in the series, Scott powered through the
line for a 98-yard TD run to extend the lead, 29-20. After a tired
Bengals defense came back out to play, Skelton found Maclin for an
amazing (albeit lucky) catch in the endzone for 51 yards. Maclin had
Pacman Jones all over him but managed to catch it anyways. Bernard
Scott was sucking down the oxygen as coach Seat was begging him to get
his ass back on the field. "I can't, sir," said Scott. 2nd year CB
Reshard St. Saint stepped up to the plate. And with that, St. Saint
took the kickoff back another 103 yards for a TD. At the end of the 3rd
quarter the score was Bengals 36, Eagles 27.

The fourth quarter was back and forth much like the second. LeSean
McCoy found the endzone not long after the start of the quarter on a 7
yard pass, but The Daily Show returned the favor, knocking it in from 8
yards out. The Bengals D stopped 4 pass attempts and called it a game.

Final Score: Bengals 43, Eagles 34

Congrats Kris, the Eagles are a really tough opponent even without Kolb.

With apologies to Chad, I was hoping the Bengalseats would take this one. It's only Week 4, but every game counts!!

No problem, I would feel the same way. Without the two kickoff returns and the safety it's a different story. In the end though, I got beat.

Watching highlight one of Roddy White's 74 yard TD. The back judge set a screen!

It happens but that Scott run too is a little silly... I count 5 defenders that got locked up in the tackle animation
