Chargers make two trades before deadline

With the trade deadline looming, the Bolts made two trades to improve their linebacker core.

First with the Redskins the Chargers acquired veteran MLB London Fletcher (91A) and Josh Wilson CB (82B). In return the Redskins receive Jonathan Goff MLB (79A), Quentin Jammer (89B) and two 2nd round picks (Bolts & Panthers). Asterisk fun here, if Fletcher retires the Chargers receive a 3rd round pick from the Redskins via Cowboys 3rd round pick.

Days after the Chargers struck a deal finally with the Eagles where Chargers receive Casey Matthews MLB (70A) and Eagles 3rd round pick for Takeo Spikes MLB (87B).

The Chargers now have a solid linebacker core in Fletcher, Shaun Phillips and James Anderson. Meanwhile Casey Matthews will be the future of their core for seasons to come.
