Week 3 Vegas Lines
Some great match-ups this week, with some strong game of the week contenders! John the Refugee takes on his friend KnowstraThomas and the Niners. Gary of the Browns faces his cousin Babyseat of the Bengals. And the AFC South gets a big game between the early division leaders in the Texans and Colts in the "Game Between the Two Dudes with Dude Names, Mike and Chad."
GOTW#1: Seahawks (1-1) v. 49ers (0-2) - Seahawks by 8.5 - I guess these two guys know each other, and tried claiming they have this amazing rivalry last season. But let's be honest, the Niners lost to the Jaguars (sorry, Rich), and have some proving to do themselves. Can they do it against their rival? How do John and Tom know each other again?
Chargers (1-1) v. Giants (1-1) - Chargers by 2.5 - The Giants lost to the Raiders by 4, while the Bolts lost to the Colts by 24 last week. San Diego had the more impressive victory Week 1, and Vegas thinks they'll edge this one out.
GOTW#2: Bengals (1-1) v. Browns (1-1) - EVEN SPREAD - The Bengals, unable to play last week, suffered a sim loss to the Steelers. The Browns took a big loss to the Bears 24-7. Both teams' wins came against stumbling, re-building teams in the Vikings and Jets, and could swing either way. This game between cousins better happen!
Cowboys (2-0) v. Eagles (1-1) - Cowboys by 2.5 - Both teams beat the Skins by 8 points, but the Eagles fell hard to the Lions in Week 1. The Starboys of the Houston Suburbs have the momentum, but no other team has as good of a chance to upend them like the Iggles. Kevin Kolb listens to Ludacris' "Roll Out" before every game, Vegas is told.
Panthers (1-1) v. Bills (1-1) - Panthers by 1.5 - This is a great match-up. Bills HB Ryan Matthews was amazing last week, with 34 carries for 283 yards. However, McNabb had ONE completion in the passing game. The Panthers have a more versatile attack, with Chris Johnson carrying and Jimmy Clausen passing. The Bills would be favored here because they've allowed 59 yards rushing, and much less passing yards compared to Carolina. That'll happen when you play two teams that hardly run the ball. Panthers' mix-it-up style gets the favor, but barely.
Cardinals (1-1) v. Rams (0-2) - Cardinals by 4.5 - Cardinals beat the Jaguars last week, and the Rams fell to the Seahawks. If the Rams can pick up the pieces this season, it's against Dan Vitale. This is an early important game for these two teams, and Vegas sees Vitale continuing to warm up to Philip Rivers.
Bears (1-1) v. Redskins (0-2) - Bears by 3.5 - The Bears beat the Browns handily last week, and are proving to be a threat in the NFC. The Skins have lost their first two surprisingly. Vegas is waiting for the Skins to come back, but still favors the Bears here.
Saints (2-0) v. Buccaneers (1-1) - Saints by 4.5 - Vegas took notice when the Buccs pillaged the Panthers 51-31 last week. The Saints are a secret best team in the league when they want to be, and have a fairly close points for/against spread, beating KnowstraThomas last week 52-49. Don't sleep on Chris James, but don't be surprised when the Saints win another one here.
Broncos (2-0) v. Raiders (1-1) - Broncos by 3.5 - The Paris Scarves won their first two with gusto. But they also lost their top two D-linemen in KC "Sweet Barbecue" Williams and some other well-known jerkoff. Ryan "Louis Anderson" Lewis handed Errol his first loss last week. If he changes up his game enough, the Raiders, like any week, can be a great upset pick, especially against a largemouth bass-hole like Todd.
Dolphins (1-1) v. Patriots (0-2) - Dolphins by 7.5 - Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on Tom Brady. The Patriots already play close games against Miami (of Ohio), so this is no contest. Vegas saw the Phins nearly win against the Texans in a huge comeback, and now they're poised to kick the shit out of the Pats.
Ravens (0-2) v. Vikings (0-2) - As far as I know, the Vikings will be needing a sub. I'm not setting a line for this game. Carl could use that first win, and he'll get it eventually, but right now Vegas predicts that they both will lose.
Titans (1-1) v. Chiefs (1-1) - Chiefs by 6.5 - The Titans beat up on the suddenly-sucky Patriots last week, and the Chefs left the bread in the oven too long for Todd to be a dick on 4th down. If Rogies can get past Aussie Chris also being a dick on some 4th downs (and in general), as well as the ever-present home-field advantage of the Aussie lag, then Vegas sees them getting back on track against the Titans.
Packers (1-1) v. Steelers (1-1) - Packers by 1.5 - Now THIS is a game. Secretly, I consider this the real GOTW for the sheer fun-factor. Adam "Underscore" Hansen is stumbling a little, but is still one of the league's better players, and a perfect match for Scott "Chumbawamba" Bins. There will be no tub, or BIN thumping here. Even if Undersc_re gets knocked down, he'll get up again next week. He'll also be pissing the night away.
GOTW#3: Colts (2-0) v. Texans (2-0) - EVEN SPREAD - This is an amazing match-up. The Colts' decimation of the chargers last week was a big statement-making win. Texans owner Mike Suszek beat Chad when he was the Lions owner last season, but with a new squad that wears his favorite team's uniform, Chad is a whole new beast this season. This game could go either way, and Vegas will reflect that.

49ers have less to prove than the Seahawks. 49ers made the Playoffs!
