Retooled Super Chargers Prevail in Season Opener
The Steelers and Chargers had a season opener rematch game where the Steelers easily beat the Chargers to push them out of the playoffs. This season, the Steelers would be facing a very different team as the Chargers made 7 trades involving 30 players and 4 draft picks so far. Both teams would open strong on their first drives, each team finishing it with a touchdown. Bolts, with newly acquired back Ahmad Bradshaw rushed 11 yards for a touchdown and Steelers rookie wide Jacob Davis with a short pass in the end zone to tie the game 7-7 in the first quarter. Then, the diamond-tipped-reshafted Chargers defense kicked in after their second score by rookie QB1, Nile "The Tide" Turner finding Michael Lincoln open for a 61 yard touchdown pass.
The next Steeler drive, the Chargers would shut the drive down with a fumble recovery. The Bolts would fail to reach the endzone and kick a field goal, putting them in the lead 7-17 in the 2nd quarter. On the next drive, Bolts veteran safety Eric Weddle would collect his first interception for the season and run just 3 yards shy of the touchdown. LeGarrette "pop you in the face" Blount charged into the endzone to put the Chargers up 7-24. On the next drive, Steelers' QB Jamarcus Austin would throw his second interception of the game to Macho "Nachos" Harris who would run it back to the 1 yard line just short of scoring 6. Bradshaw would collect the easy touchdown pushing the lead more to 7-31. Still in the second quarter, the Steelers would finally find the endzone with a touchdown pass to Deon Butler with just 14 seconds left. Just seconds left in the first half and the score 14-31, Chargers fans were thinking if only that dickhead was still here we could expect another score. But no need as Nile Turner threw to an open Lincoln for 71 yards getting the touchdown with just 2 seconds left on the clock. This would be the last score of the first half, the score 14-38 Bolts.
In the second quarter, Steelers coach Adam would substitute quarterbacks, putting in the Charger's last season backup Max Hall. Hall would prove to show no better in the third quarter; tossing two more interceptions to both Harris and Weddle again. Bradshaw and Gates would both score touchdowns on each turnover pushing the ridiculous Bolts lead to 14-52. The Chargers were trying to kill as much clock possible in the second half and by the fourth appeared to be mailing in the game. Going 3 and out constantly with just runs up the middle or to the right. The Steelers fan would at least have a show in their backup QB, Max Hall. Hall would throw to Jacob Davis, Darren Sproles and Devan Ontario all for a touchdown in the 4th quarter, bringing the score to a respectable 35-52. It appears the moves the Bolts made this season truly helped strengthen their poor defense without hurting the offense too much. Rookie Nile Turner looks to be transitioning well so far, although it is early.
The loss is tough for the Steelers, however the bigger loss is losing two players. Rookie receiver Jacob Davis is out for 12 weeks with a broken forearm and left tackle Tony Hills is out 10 weeks for a broken collarbone. It appears the Chargers injury causing defense is still in full effect.
Final score 35-52, Penisless Super Chargers.
Adam it was a fun game initially and I wonder if the first didn't drop the score would have been better. Also, again I'm sorry about the injuries.

Re: Retooled Super Chargers Prevail in Season Opener
"The Tide" is turning these Chargers into Superbowl contenders!
Nile "THE TIDE" Turner.
Did anyone else see those billboards around San Diego with Turner on them?
"The Tide is coming..."

Actually, they were in the middle of updating those billboards from last season. They originally said "The Penis is coming..." but they now say "The Tide is rising..." Much better choice by the ad firm in the end. Hehe, "firm in the end." I'm so funny.

Richard - just to say: THANK YOU. Rivers is so much fun playing after the utter useless Der*k Anders*n and the charitible Donovan McNabb..
Re: Retooled Super Chargers Prevail in Season Opener
Haha, no need to thank me Dan. I think we came to a pretty good deal that I turned around for more defense and still got a pretty respectable QB out of it. The tide is rising in San Diego! Going 8-8 instead of 7-9!

Hey Dickie Bae,
What would it take to change the tide and bring Nile to the Titans?
