Injured Reserve List

While this is also up on the Wiki, I figured it couldn't hurt to have this here as well. If you guys are able to edit this post to add players, feel free to do it, otherwise, simply post below if you have any additions, and I will change the main post to reflect it.

Houston Texans : Travis Beckum

Detroit Lions: Frank Gore

Cincinnati Bengals: Bernard Scott

These players may not be added back to their team's rosters until the super bowl has been played. They are off-limits to anyone that is not the team that placed them on injured reserve.

When a player is placed on IR, is that just for the regular season? Or does that include the entirety of the playoffs as well?

It includes the entirety of the playoffs as well. (ie: Jermichael Finley and Ryan Grant)

Bengals give WR Santana Moss the slip and pick up WR Jeremiah Oduh, a rookie from Miami.

San Diego Chargers have placed Marcus Mcneil (LT) and Brandon Siler (MLB) on injured reserve to make add depth for their playoff run. Both players were diagnosed with broken clavicles of the collar. When asked at Coach Turner was asked at Monday's press conference if both players would get sized for Super Bowl rings, he commented, "Super Bowl? SUPer BOWL?!?! You want to talk about the Super Bowl? Only thing those two will be getting sized for are arm slings."

Coach McCarthy had the Packers sized for their Super Bowl rings before they played in the game. And guess what? They fucking won.

Hah, yeah that was my bit of play on how crappy of a playoff coach norv turner is... not even going to take the strategy of the pack attack.

Bengals sadly place WR Andre Caldwell on IR after he tore his bicep in last weeks game against the Jaguars. Caldwell is out for 9 weeks, so he'll have to wait until next year to play again. He still has 6 years left on his contract, though, so he plans to stay in Cincinnati and attend the playoff game(s).

In lieu of this, the Bengals pick up former Bengals WR, Jerome Simpson off of Free Agency.

Just a note someone put a bid on Mike Karney, not sure who I should tell it to so just bringing it up here.

Texans TE Travis Beckum is on IR. Yes, only 1 cap, and he's 70 overall, but I want his 84 speed and 91 catching when he's healthy.

Is every team in the league going to pick up Travis Beckum?

Yes, hopefully at least one more. I am tired of seeing him on my Injury report.

If you like, you can declare him on IR, which will free up a roster spot and cap room.

So, do I just do that here or do I have to do it in League Manager? Also, how do I sign a player from free agency?

I typically do this:

1. Email the league to say you're placing (PLAYER) on IR. That means he's out for the season then, but still considered on your team.
2. Drop the player in leagueManager.
3. Add his name to this list on the Wiki for your team: http://4thstringleagues.pbworks.com/w/page/35137477/Injured-Reserve
4. For good measure, also declare it on this forum thread.

Then when it comes to picking up players off free agency, always check the Wiki page I just linked to. If you don't, you could pick up someone on IR that's injured that you don't even realize. For example, that dummy Jeff Solomon picked up my TE Travis Beckum, who I placed on IR. And come to think of it, he never dropped him.

Unless the player is reported to be on IR, they are free agents. Also, don't pick up Austin Collie if he's available. He died in the league (career-ending fractured vertebrae).

I am putting Frank Gore on IR. Hopefully he will be healthy for me next season.

Oh, he will be, everyone "resets" after the season's done. Question is whether he'll stay healthy.

Bernard Scott (81 OVR HB) sent to IR with a broken toe.

In Scott's place, the Bengals sign HB Lionel Focus (62 OVR - B potential rookie) and HB Joique Bell (68 OVR - 2nd year player) for depth.
