Estimate on starting the season?
With the draft close to wrapping up and then the 3 day free agency period I was wondering if we can safely assume that the season won't start until sometime after the holiday weekend? I'm only asking so I can figure out when to schedule with my first week opponent since I will be out of town for the 4th from Thursday until late Monday.

Regardless, the first week won't end until well after the holiday weekend, I think.

Couldn't we start playing our games DURING the Free Agency?
So eager to kick off!
And 3 days? The Free Agency should be 48 MAX! I'm thinking more like 24 hours.

I find it difficult to set a time for FA bidding to finish, because it won't be at a convenient time for some people in the league. Something to mull over.

It's an auction essentially isnt it?
Let's get Carl and Michael to let us know when they usually get up. In a weekday I'm usually up at 6am and out of the house at 7:15.. That time is around mid afternoon for you Chris, and is late evening in Pacific time. The only issue there is any east-coasters in the States..

I'm the only Australian in the league now, so I'm happy to be 'inconvenienced' by the end of the FA period. Don't care much anyway - I won't really have much cap space to play with.

Re: Estimate on starting the season?
To be honest the raised level c(r)ap makes Free Agency completely irrelevent. There wont be any real star players available. If anything it should have been lowered (my opinion of course...)
Re: Estimate on starting the season?
I have no CAP whatsoever to play with, so my team will be set for I suspect. FA can go swing, unless someone is there I like and I drop someone for them.

No, I examined this pretty thoroughly. Lower the cap and few teams could have re-signed key players and also gone through the draft for rookies. Don't forget that rookie contracts haven't been assigned yet! You'll change your tune soon enough, trust me!
