Chargers go 4-2 this week... bookended with losses that count and still last in the AFC West
Say what? So I played a lot of Madden games this week. 3 sub-ins and 3 for my team. I lost when it counted, but all the games were exciting even though I've been feeling burnt out with 11. Here's just a short highlight of all the games.
Tuesday Game 1: Chargers vs Jags
Rich will say I got "maddened" but I say I just got out-played. Coming into the week I was a bit tired of Madden 11, so I didn't have the right mindset for the game. But that's not an excuse or an attempt to discredit Rich on his performance. By the fourth quarter I tried to make a comeback and failed. With just under a minute left in the game I go the score to within 8 and failed an onside kick, ending the game. Final score: 30-22 Jags. Great game Rich, at least half of my turnovers were my fault so don't sell yourself short, legit win, I played poorly.
Wednesday Game 2: Rams vs Falcons
I subbed for the Rams and tried to play my best as I would want others to do for me if they were subbing. So I was into this game a lot more than the last I played. Perhaps it was because I was playing a new team, but I had a blast. Rams QB Dan LeFevour had the fever for TD passes (ugh sorry that's just a terrible pun), throwing 5 TDs for 314 yards. Two of those were to Earl Bennet. The game was very close until the 4th quarter where a couple of key turnovers by the Falcons helped the Rams slide by with the win. Final score 35-24 Rams. Marcus, this was a fun game for me and I hope it was for you too. I feel I got very lucky in the 4th quarter to secure the win.
Game 3: Chargers vs Texans
Immediately after subbing for the Lambs, we moved to week 12 where I would play the commish. Mike already wrote up a funny summary of the game so I'm just going to say, if I didn't make that 2 point conversion, Mike you would of most likely won. I'm about 95% sure of it, my defense was done in the 2nd half. Final score 22-21 Chargers. Possibly the best intense fun-factor league game I've played so far. I give it 23 breadsticks out of 12.
Friday Game 4: Vikings vs Eagles
Subbing in for the Vikings on this one, playing with another young QB Andrew Parris. Parris found 7 different targets, but the star of this game for the Vikes offense was HB Orlando "going to Disneyworld" Holliday. He ran 118 yards on 16 attempts for 2 TDs and had 3 receptions for 67 yards and a touchdown. Ridiculous little speedy back. The only reason I won this game though was due to the Eagles bad timing on interceptions. With the score tied 38-38 and with maybe 2 minutes left in the game, the Eagles were driving hard into their red zone for the winning score. But an unlucky interception would end this drive, leaving the Vikings to push down the field and kill the clock to win the game with a field goal. Final score 41-38 Vikings. Chad, this was a fun shootout. Brent Celek and DeSean Jackson were a nightmare to cover. Excellent game, just got a bit unlucky with the interceptions.
Saturday Game 5: 49ers vs Cardinals
First off, my apologies as I probably shouldn't of played this game as there seemed to be some communication confusions going on. I subbed for the Niners on this one and this was yet another close game. The Cardinals dominated offensively if you look at the stats (295 yards vs 172 yards) but unfortunate interceptions by Penis Rivers would plague the Cards. Matt Cassel got the start from interim head coach Bae, and he took full advantage of the opportunity. Cassel went 14 for 23 for 158 yards and 3 touchdowns. The running game was pitiful for the niners, but Cassel shined on managing the win. Dan already had the write-up on this one, but the ending of the game was incredible. What could of been easily a touchdown instead was an interception to end the game. Final Score 28-21 49ers. I had a blast with this one Dan. I felt very limited playing with the niners and it was a bit weird seeing Rivers play on the other side and getting sacked by Brandon Siler.
Sunday Game 6: Chargers vs Broncos
And the lastest game of this crazy stretch was against the longtime rivals, Parisian Ponies. Todd had a write up on this so I'll just add that the 3rd quarter killed me on this one. In particular that 3 sack-in-a-row-fumblitis-for-a-touchdown shit. That and all those freaking sweeps to the right that I just took too long to pickup on defensively. Yet another fun game against To__'s Broncos, I can't wait for our season ender that probably will determine which 6-10 AFC West team gets to the playoffs. It's weird how this week began and ended in very similar fashion. Both Charger losses and both that came down to failed on-side kick attempts. Final score 31-26 Broncos.
What's the lesson I learned this week? Oddly enough, playing more games got me back into 11 . I only suck at defense when playing the Chargers. And if you need a sub and a win... I take paypal donations (kidding, I'll take google checkout and amazon payments too) . Also my apologies to any of the teams I subbed for on injuries. I may have been playing 4th string h2h style... my bad.

Good write up Rich, great to read what happens in games, anyone care to tell us about the Lions v Bears NFC North face off league topping match?
