MLB 2k11 League

I'm going to try and head up an MLB 2k11 League. This is not set in stone however, because we are going to wait and see if 2k11 is any good. I do want to gauge interest. A few of us have already claimed teams, however.

Teams claimed:

Dodgers
Brewers
Twins
Astros
Mariners
Reds
Red Sox
Phillies

Well if the game is good, I'll take the Phillies. Yes i'm a Phillies fan.

Almost forgot. My intent in this league isn't going to be to replicate the MLB perfectly. I doubt we will get every team filled. I say we take a league vote on weather or not to use the DL. I am also thinking about arranging divisions based on player location, to make scheduling games easier on everyone. We will likely play 7 inning games.

I guess I'll give it a go. Put me down for the redsox please.

This is a possibility, but I doubt we'll get enough interest for seperate leagues. Also organizing a draft could be tricky.

After playing the game online, it's looking like this is going to happen. Not for a couple weeks yet as I can't afford the game at this exact moment (bills, yay) but the online game I played was solid. Anyone else with the game already (redbox is awesome) should send me a message so we can play a game.

I can also say that 7 innings games seems like the right amount. 9 is far too long.

Is there fatigue in the online league? I don't want to face a team's #1 pitcher every time I play them.

Good question. If I remember what limited experience I had with 2k10, there was fatigue, but it was broken. I also think that by default, one of your starting pitchers is randomly selected (although you could change this prior to the start of the game) I think this would be a fine way to do things if we can't do a real rotation. But I'm sure the honor system will be fine with us.

Does anyone else here have the game yet? I'd like to do a short 4 team season to test things out if at all possible.

God, I feel like I am supposed to get and play this game, but nothing I'm hearing/reading about it is very encouraging.

I'm sure you put me down for the Brewers Scott, but I'm not 100% committed yet, if only because I'll be buying a 3DS and games for that at the end of the month.

No problem. I didn't expect anyone to commit to a game that we weren't sure about yet.

I personally have not noticed any of the big problems people are having...but I also haven't looked too much.

In fact, after some more play time, I'm thinking I will hold off on buying the game myself.

If this winds up happening, I'll take the Cincinnati Redlegs!
