Ravens get lucky in opener
Coach John Farver was happy with the win but not very happy with the way the Ravens played Sunday night at home against the Steelers. While the Ravens may have won 17-10 it was the Steelers new owner Marlown Osorio who made the biggest splash. Late in the 4th quarter the Ravens punted deep into Steeler territory. Osorio wanted to let the ball through to the end zone but somehow his return man did not get out of the way and the ball nicked his foot. The Ravens who thought they were downing the ball instead retained possession but on the visiting teams three yard line. Two plays later Ray Rice pounded it in for the touch down.
For the Ravens Joe Flacco kept a clean sheet but had a sub par day passing. Ray Rice and FB Leach both had rushing TDs to lead the way for Baltimore. The real story of the day though wa the ball hawking Ravens D who took the ball five times to keep their team in the game. The Ravens made a trade for another WR and hope to open up the offense next week when they face the Tennessee Titans and their owner Dan Morgan.
